![]() ![]() The printer in question is not on a print server and also doesn’t have any capabilities to require a user to authenticate with it in order to use it. If I click on Retry it will actually give me a username/password prompt but I have no idea what to type because I have no idea what it’s trying to authenticate with. How do I make it stop trying to authenticate with whatever? What is the Mac trying to authenticate with? Most of the time when I install a printer on a Mac (download and install driver and then manually add the printer under Printers) and then try to print I wind up with “Hold for Authentication” and I would like to know the following: When the total number of pages saved on the hard disk exceeds 9,000 pages.I see all the threads here about this and how just like all the ones I’ve found elsewhere none of them have solutions but since I don’t really see any other options for finding a solution I thought I would ask here anyway. When there are 100 Sample Print, Locked Print, Hold Print, and Stored Print jobs saved on the hard disk. ![]() You can check the error log for jobs not saved. Print jobs are not saved on the hard disk in the following cases. If the collate option is selected in the application's print dialog box, more prints than intended may be printed. By default, Hold print jobs are automatically collated by the printer driver. If the application has a collate option, be sure to disable it before you send a print job. However, an error message will appear if you try to print or delete those Hold Print files. Hold Print files printed or deleted using Web Image Monitor after you have selected using the control panel will still appear on the display panel. Hold Print files will not appear on the display panel if they have already been printed or deleted using Web Image Monitor before you select using the control panel. At most, the printer can save 100 jobs or 9,000 pages for Sample Print, Locked Print and Hold Print. The number of pages the printer can save varies depending on the contents of the print images. ![]() This function is available only if the hard disk is installed on the printer. ![]() You need Mac OS X v10.2 or higher to use this function. ![]()
